COMIC LIFE

For the Comic Life assignment, we were asked to write a screen play and develop a comic, which included a simple storyboard, that would explore the '"capacities" of the human experience with technology.' As time goes on in the modern world, we see technology gaining more and more power which allows for its continuous and more practical application. My idea stemmed from this, and I wondered what would happen if technology could literally do anything we wanted it to. I thought about how this would influence different individuals, specifically focusing on my nephew who is only four years old. My experience with him and in a pre-kindergarten class has showed me that most kids his age are pure of hear and filled with good intention. The idea for my comic was then born, and is based on my nephew using the possible future of technology to do good in the world.

To create the comic, I used ComicLife 3 with a combination of stock photography and a some photos I took myself. Working with stock photography was not as easy as I would have hoped, because it was hard to find consistent photos. In the future, I would like to plan my photographs better and not rely so much on what might be available. I feel this would have given my comic more consistency.

The Storyboard was sketched in pencil on paper and then photographed, while the Screenplay was written in Word using an online guide to writing screenplays.
